Why Firehouse

Firefighter Founded. Locally Owned.

Firehouse was founded by a fire captain. That background shapes how we approach chimney care: take the time to inspect, show homeowners what we see and explain what needs attention.

Our roofing experience also brings a useful perspective above the roofline. We look at how your chimney meets the roof, document visible concerns and distinguish cleaning needs from repair recommendations. You can understand the findings before deciding what to do next.

Signs to Schedule an Inspection

When Your Fireplace Needs a Closer Look

You do not have to wait for an obvious problem to schedule an inspection. Lingering odors, visible buildup, fallen debris or an unknown service history are all worth discussing before your next fire.

If smoke is coming into the room, stop using the fireplace until the cause has been assessed. Cleaning alone may not resolve a venting problem; we explain whether cleaning, repair or a more detailed evaluation is appropriate.

FAQ

Common Questions About Chimney Cleaning
Still Have Questions?

Roofing can be a complicated process, we can make it simple. Give us a call or hit the button to get started.

  • Have the chimney and fireplace inspected annually. Cleaning is based on use, buildup and condition, so every fireplace does not need the same schedule. An inspection helps establish what yours needs before the next burning season.

  • A sweep removes accessible soot and deposits. An inspection assesses the visible condition of the chimney and fireplace. Firehouse combines cleaning with a 15-point, Level 1 visual inspection so you receive both the service and an explanation of the findings.

  • A Level 1 inspection looks at readily accessible portions of the chimney and fireplace. Our visit also includes an exterior roof-level check and photo and video documentation. It is not an invasive inspection of concealed construction or a guarantee that every hidden defect will be found.

  • Creosote is a combustible deposit from burning wood. It can accumulate inside the chimney. Inspection and appropriate sweeping help identify and address buildup; heavier or glazed deposits may require work beyond a routine cleaning.

  • Yes. Infrequent use does not rule out deterioration, debris or an obstruction. Annual inspections are still recommended, while the need for cleaning depends on the condition found.

  • Gas fireplaces have different service requirements from wood-burning systems. Tell us your fireplace type when you contact Firehouse so we can confirm eligibility and the appropriate service before booking.

  • Yes. The service includes photo and video documentation, before-and-after documentation, and written findings. We explain the visible conditions, what was cleaned and any recommended next steps.

  • The cleaning visit includes an inspection and repair recommendations. Additional repair work or a more detailed evaluation is a separate scope that we explain and confirm with you before proceeding.

  • Contact Firehouse to confirm the current price and what is included for your fireplace. Let us know the fireplace type, your last cleaning date if known, and any concerns so we can discuss the right scope before your visit.

  • Those situations can require a more detailed inspection than a routine Level 1 visit. Tell us about a property purchase, system change, suspected damage or chimney fire before booking so the appropriate evaluation can be discussed.
